The Grampians National Park Tour showcases the region called “Gariwerd” by the local Indigenous people. It is a spectacular series of rugged mountain ranges located west of Melbourne. The park is home to abundant kangaroos, wallabies, and other native animals, and it has stunning silver band falls and panoramic mountain views. The tour includes short walks to favourite spots and the award-winning Brambuk Cultural Centre, which provides insight into the region’s history, landscape, and Wildlife.

Grampians One Day Tour Itinerary 

This excursion provides a day’s journey from Melbourne to discover the breathtaking wonders of the Grampians National Park.

Throughout this tour, you’ll observe a primeval terrain featuring stark mountain ranges and sandstone crests, potentially taking you on a journey through time. An expert guide will be present to offer deep insights into the rural landscape and historical background of the region, enriching your comprehension of the locale.

Departing the metropolis, our route extends 250 km westward, traversing areas steeped in Victorian Goldrush heritage. Our voyage culminates with a visit to a charming town, allowing you to delve into the mining legacy and relish morning tea or coffee.

Upon reaching the Grampians National Park, attendees can delve into the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where they can learn about the area’s foundational myths and cultural importance. Wildlife enthusiasts might encounter wallabies, emus, and echidnas in the adjacent wilderness. This excursion provides a more profound appreciation of Gariwerd’s significance to the Indigenous populace.
From Reed’s Lookout, one can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley, and the Mount Difficult Range. We then hike along a shaded path through gum trees and interesting rock formations to reach The Balconies. There, you can see the famous ‘Jaws of Death’ with beautiful views and scenery featured in the Japanese Animation’ Princess Mononoke’.
The waterfall in Victoria Valley is well-known, and we hiked down to the base to admire the abundant water and the refreshing air spray. The hike consists of approximately 250 steps to the base and back. If you prefer a more relaxed and flat walk over the top of the falls, that’s perfectly acceptable. If Mackenzie Falls is not accessible to the public, a serene hike to Silverband Falls would be an alternative option.
A stop at Boroka lookout allows you to capture the breathtaking scenery. Alternatively, depending on the weather and visibility, you can walk along Lake Bellfield’s dam and experience the impressive mountain ranges.
In the town of Halls Gap, it is interesting that residents do not need to own a lawn mower, as kangaroos can be seen grazing on the grass in the evenings. You will probably observe various Australian bird species, including kookaburras and emus, during your visit to the Grampians. However, we guarantee that you will not depart without encountering a kangaroo. In the area, we expect to see echidnas and wallabies. Please remember not to feed any wild animals, but ensuring your camera is fully charged is always a good idea.
At some point, we will need to return to the city. The 3-hour journey from the Grampians includes a stop for dinner, which you will need to pay for yourself. After a day of exploring, take some time to relax and think. You will arrive in Melbourne around 8.30 pm and be dropped off at your original pickup spot or near public transportation options.

NOTE: Child rates apply from 6 years to 12 years old. It is unsuitable for children under six years old due to the nature of the tour and safety reasons.
