Tourism Wellington

Alice Springs to Uluru tour

Our small group safari adventure tour offers a comprehensive journey to explore the main attractions of the Red Centre.

Over four full days, the tour explores three iconic locations (Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta and Tjoritja West MacDonnell Ranges).

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987 due to its impressive geological formations, unique flora and fauna, and stunning natural beauty.

A tour guide will provide comprehensive commentary and bring the Red Centre to life, sharing ancient stories, myths, secrets, and hidden gems.

The tour offers comfortable twin-share safari tents for privacy, comfort, and security. Alternatively, you can opt for a traditional swag experience with a canvas-covered bed roll.

Itinerary

From Alice Springs or Yulara (Uluru Airport), travellers begin their journey towards Ayers Rock (Uluru), making a stop at Mt Conner’s lookout (also known as False Uluru or Fool-Uru) for the beautiful views of the red mountain. There is a quick break at Curtin Springs for restroom use before arriving at the campground for lunch. (Note: Only guests from Alice Springs are provided lunch; those from Ayers Rock need their arrangements.)

After lunch, we went to the Red Centre’s cultural centre to learn about the national park’s significance. We stood in awe at the base of Uluru, amazed by its magnificence. We trekked to the Mutitjulu waterhole and explored rock art sites. We listened to creation stories and hiked to Kuniya Piti. We then drove to Kantju Gorge, passing sacred sites. We saw the highest waterfall in Central Australia. We ended the day watching a spectacular sunset and enjoying dinner with a panoramic view of Uluru.
