Darwin Croc Tour in Adelaide River

You can observe powerful predators in their natural environment by experiencing a half-day Jumping Croc Cruise on the Adelaide River in Darwin.

The journey takes us approximately 60km southeast from Darwin city to the Marrakai wetlands. This area is known for its diverse population of native birds, with over 280 different types, and its wide variety of reptiles, including the saltwater crocodile.

The Top End of Australia is home to over 100,000 saltwater crocodiles, primarily found in Darwin, Mary River, and the Adelaide River region. As a result, visitors to the Northern Territory can expect to encounter many of these crocodiles in the natural waterways.

The saltwater crocodile is the largest reptile in the world. It is also one of the oldest living creatures since the dinosaur age. These prehistoric beasts can grow up to 6 meters long and weigh 1000kg. A local crocodile called ‘Sweetheart’ caused trouble by chewing motors off boats and stealing cows. Sweetheart was captured and passed away in 1979 but is now preserved in the Darwin Museum.

Our staff are all issued Wildlife Permits by National Parks and Wildlife to protect animals during our interactions.
