From polocrosse and thoroughbred racing to campdraft and trail riding along quiet country roads, Wellington is a favorite destination for all horse lovers.
Pony Clubs abound and during December Wellington hosts a round of the national showjumping championships. Wellington also boasts a racecourse equal to any in the big cities, a TAFE campus with a rural and equine studies department and quality polocrosse grounds.
All this for the horse lover and only a two and a half hour drive from Melbourne.

SALE TURF CLUB
Experience country racing at its greatest at the historic Greenwattle racecourse. The Sale Turf Club hosts 18 race meetings per year and is considered the strongest race Club in Gippsland with champion horses like Sky Heights and Makybe Diva as previous winners at this spacious and award winning track.
The Sale Cup, held each year in October, is the place to be with raceday packages, fashions on the field and quality race fields guaranteeing a great day out for socializing with friends and family or even entertaining business clients.
People from various corners of the globe have visited Greenwattle Racecourse to enjoy the thrills of watching their horse compete, or experience our warm country hospitality. Our facility can also be hired for functions and parties.
