Licola is an attractive village beside the Macalister River making it a great destination for fishing and camping, especially with the Alpine National Park nearby. Many four wheel drive tracks and trails are accessible from Licola.

Licola is a popular 4WD destination, with tracks ranging from easy to very difficult and walks that can offer breathtaking views. The area boasts many other attractions with the Pinnacles fire hut and lookout off Moroka Road a popular destination. Other attractions in the area include the Moroka Falls and Gorge as well as cattlemen’s huts.

Trail bike riders also share the trails network. Horse riders also frequent the Alpine National Park with tours available. Winter is especially enjoyed by cross country skiers.

Licola is the only privately owned township in Victoria, the town generates its own power, pumps and treats its own water and is responsible for waste management.
