At the heart of Gippsland, Sale is the ideal location for a relaxed retreat or alternatively involve yourself in the many and varied activities.

Visit the Port of Sale, a recreational marina with its extensive berthing facilities. Here you can set sail and travel the Gippsland Lakes region eventually connecting to the ocean at Lakes Entrance. Experience the internationally listed Sale Common Wetlands Walk which is filled with a variety of birdlife, freshwater, marshes and red gum woodlands.

Explore the Botanic Gardens taking in the Fauna Park, then continue on and around Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt which incorporates the historic Powder Magazine. A little out of town you can view the oldest surviving National Trust classified Swing Bridge.

The Gippsland Art Gallery presents a diverse exhibition program including works by internationally known artist Annemieke Mein. 

Often seen practicing in the skies overhead are the aerobatic flying team RAAF ‘Roulettes’ located at the RAAF base at East Sale. For an interesting insight into Gippslands Armed Forces and only 10kms west of Sale, the Gippsland Armed Forces Museum at the West Sale Airport.
